It’s summertime and the big bulls are growing their new racks. It’s so amazing to see how fast they grow. It won’t be long til they start shedding and will be in hard rack. Let the hunts begin!

Spring in Southeast Kansas

What a difference a week can make in Kansas ! One week ago we had about 8 inches of snow….on the first day of spring. And, with cold blowing winds. Lots of snow drifts. As you can see in this picture, one of the bulls has already lost his rack with new spring growth coming in.

Elk hunting at Wehmeyer Hunting Preserve this week was enjoyed by some great guys from Alabama. This bull made for a challenging hunt.
